The research

This project investigated whether it is possible to recover text typed on a standard keyboard using only acoustic recordings. Our results demonstrated that this is indeed feasible with high accuracy, raising important questions about the security of typed information in environments where microphones may be present.

The work was supported in part by the National Science Foundation and the Army Research Office.
